Errors
todoless uses the PocketBase error envelope. Custom /api endpoints return JSON with at least a message field. In general:
{"code": 400, "message": "Something went wrong while performing a request.", "status": 400, "data": {}}
{"message": "Validation failed."}
Common HTTP status codes
| Code | Meaning | Typical cause |
|---|---|---|
| 400 | Bad request | Missing or invalid fields (validation failure) |
| 401 | Unauthenticated | Missing or invalid session token or API token |
| 403 | Forbidden | Authenticated but not permitted (wrong scope, not the owner) |
| 404 | Not found | Unknown path, or the resource is hidden from you (owner-only resources return 404) |
| 429 | Too many requests | Rate limit reached |
| 500 | Server error | Unexpected failure |
| 503 | Service unavailable | A dependency is not configured (for example a webhook secret) |
Validation errors include a data map with per-field details, e.g. data.password.message. The examples in this documentation are illustrative.
